Night time was when everything really started to go down hill for Mr. Poe. He told himself every night before his head hit the pillow that it would be the night he got used to sleeping alone, and every night he failed miserably at it. You see, Drew hadn't actually slept alone since he was around 12. His younger brother had been plagued with nightmares as a child, and always found his way into his brothers bed. For some reason Drew had the ability to chase monsters away. Further along in his teen years he met Tay, his former fiancee. Tay and Drew had been together almost seven years when she drove a stake through his heart. Drew often found himself unable to fall asleep because her warm body wasn't there for him to hold onto, he didn't have her hair annoying his face all night, and not to mention the kicking in her sleep was actually missed. Drew ran a hand over his face as he reached for the bus door, pulling it open reluctantly. It was around three in the morning, and Drew had been missing since around 10pm, something he typically didn't do. The bassist just didn't feel like responding to his texts, or going out with his band mates for dinner.
Drew had wanted to be alone with his music, his cigarettes, and his fur child Mowgli. Mowgli was a small, fawn and black french bulldog that Drew had gotten with Tay on their third anniversary as a couple. Mowgli was the only thing Drew fought for in their midget court fights over possessions, and he would be damned if Tay took that too. Not many people realized that Drew had rolled over and gave Tay far more than she deserved. She got the BMW, their apartment in Cali with all its contents we might add, and got to keep her engagement ring. Drew grumbled to himself as he let Mowgli walk up the steps first. Once inside he unclasped Mowgli from his leash and headed towards the shower, stripping carelessly as he made his way down the hall. Whether it was the exhaustion, or the drinks he really didn't care if his band mates saw him nude. He walked into the bathroom, shut the door and got into the shower. While in the shower Mowgli ran about the bus searching for his stuffed pig, once he had found it he sauntered over to Rosie's bunk.
He looked up at it, before whining and scratching at the side to be picked up. When that didn't work he began barking at her. Mowgli was pretty spoiled, and well just because Rosie wanted to sleep like a normal person didn't mean the dog would let his needs go unmet. Just about this time Drew was coming out of the bathroom, now wearing a pair of basket ball shorts and nothing else. He scolded Mowgli before picking him up and tossing him in his bunk. Drew stood there for a moment taking his bed in, god how he hated the site of it empty. He grumbled a bit before deciding to go back over to Rosie's. He scooped Mowgli up once more, and with him in one arm, he preceded to crawl into Rosie's bunk with her. This was not an uncommon occurrence by any means. He placed Mowgli down before pulling the blankets over himself, and snuggling up to Rosie. "Sorry.." he mumbled against the back of her neck...

i'm not growing up i'm just burning out rosie had always valued her sleep. more so when she was on tour, because of all the extra energy she was using. it was a common misconception that rosie was on the go all the time. more than anyone, she needed to recharge, and anyone who knew rosie was aware that waking her up would result in a very grumpy redhead. it was perhaps the only time she got seriously grouchy with people.
and sleep was more important than ever on tour. her days were filled with signings and hanging out with people, and then at night, rosie almost always had plans with someone. she was a busy girl, and although she liked to race around like a rocket, even rosie eventually ran out of steam. yes, sleep was definitely one of rosie's favorite things to do, but unfortunately for her, she was something of a light sleeper.
a bark cut through to her dreams, and instinctively, rosie curled up into a ball. it was too early to be woken up by mowgli, rosie knew, and as much as she loved the dog, she would have done anything to shut it up right then and there. then she heard a voice, and figuring the dog would be sorted out soon, began to drift off once more.
when she felt someone nuzzle up behind her, rosie knew it had to be drew. no one else would know they were an exception to her irritable moods. more so for the facts that rosie felt sorry for them and that they'd been best friends for years. drew crawling in beside her at night happened more times than rosie could count since he'd broken up with tay. sighing, she shifted slightly, refusing to open her eyes.
"no problem." she managed to mumble, but it was clear she wasn't very impressed. only then did she realize the dog was on the bunk too. she could feel it moving around, trying to get comfy only to finally settle down at the foot of the bed. after that, rosie could feel herself drifting off to sleep, only for the dog to move again. she could have sworn then, but she managed to hold it in. "d'you think mowgli will sleep anytime soon?" she asked drew quietly, rolling to face him slightly. all rosie really wanted to do was sleep. she knew she'd have a busy day tomorrow. 400. drew. lol, sorry this is so awful!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 497px; height: 600px; background-image:url(http://i45.tinypic.com/1eo1sw.png)] Drew just smiled when she told him it was no problem. Rosie was truly his rock, his foundation, the one person who kept his head above crashing waves, even when he was the one trying to drown himself. She had been there the night Drew found out what Tay had done, she had held him without judgement as he sobbed his heart out. Drew had been told over the last couple months that Tay never deserved him, that he was so much better off without her, that Tay was a horrible person, that sluts got what they deserved, and to drink up and move on. But Drew no matter how badly he hurt, he could never bring himself to hate his angel. Oh how he had tried, but could not seem to get past it all. He wanted someone to smack the shit out of him, tell him he was being stupid, but it seemed he was just getting a shoulder wherever he went. Drew snuggled closer to Rosie, and tried his best to fall asleep, but seemed to be failing at that as well. "I don't know what I would do without you." Drew mumbled softly.
"Mowgli lay down."[/d] Drew sad firmly wanting the dog to settle. He didn't want to keep Rosie up, but it seemed everything was working against them. "She called again.." Drew admitted though didn't feel like owning up to the fact he had answered. He groaned and rolled away from Rosie and onto his back. He rubbed a hand over his face as he looked at the top of the bunk. "Want to go get a late night snack, a walk, or got write or something... I cant lay here." he said sadly, as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and his head fell into his hands, as he stared at the floor. How could one person, have hurt him so badly? How could her mere voice turn his inside to liquid? How could her apology send every inch of his body on edge? He had struggled so hard not to let her hear the cracking in his voice, the forgiveness that begged to be let out. Drew knew he couldn't take her back, she would do it again, and he knew that. But a small part of him longed to start over, to have her back, to make things perfect this time around...
Drew got to his feet, and began collecting some clothes. He tossed everything on his bed, before grabbing his jeans and pulling them on. He grabbed his tee shirt tossing it on, before sitting down once more to pull his sneakers on. "Rosie you coming?" he asked as he looked around for his jacket.
