i guess things have changed [atrb=border,0,true] It had been a dull day for phoenix today. He really had not done anything except play a show and then hung out with his kid on skype. He knew that it was not the same thing but it would have to do. So it was pretty laid back and he had not had one like that in what seemed like forever. It was actually nice to have to do anything all day. He wished that he would get more days like this honestly because they were scarce. So he sat in his bed, just waking up from a nap and he stretched his limbs before rolling onto his side. Well now what was he going to do? Maybe he could just sleep the rest of the day away since it had been a while since he done that. Or he could go to this party that some kid was throwing at one of the clubs. That seemed to be a little fun although he was not sure who was going and who was not. If he knew someone that was going then it would probably be a for sure thing that he would go but he really did not. Maybe he would just wing it and pray to the lord that someone he knew would be there. Chances are they would be since this tour had about a hundred partiers to every person that did not party often. He figured if you wanted to hang you had to at least party a little bit. Of course there were kids who took it to the extreme but he certainly hoped that he did not ever take it that far. He did not want to die of liver disease on top of his crazy, impulsive decisions that probably would kill him one day. No thank you.
So he rolled onto his side and stared ahead of him, wondering if he should go or not. He probably should. At least it would give him an excuse not to sit here and sleep all day and then he would be able to hopefully get his sleeping schedule on track again. Nah who the fuck was he kidding, that shit was fucked up forever. So he decided to stop being a big baby and get up. At least at this point in time he did not have a hangover. The worst one he had had to have been a couple days ago. That day he just felt like curling up into a ball and dying a quick death. But at least he was fine now right? Well he had to have been fine. Phoenix would have been quite worried if he was not fine. So he stretched once more and decided fuck it, might as well just get up and get moving. There was no point in dwelling here for the rest of the day. Besides there really was not much left to the day so he was going to get up and go to this party. It had been decided, he would go and if he got bored hed just go somewhere else. Who knew he might have the time of his life there. Or he could be so bored hed want to start mutilating body parts of his, either one was an option.
To take a shower or not to take a shower, that really was the question in Phoenixs mind right now. It was a silly question and definitely one that really was not worth pondering about but he did not care. He probably should take a shower since he probably smelled like sweat and shit but god he was feeling so lazy right now that he had said fuck it. He will just spray his body with obscene amounts of body spray (probably axe) and then call it a day. At least he would not smell like tour anymore. He then changed out of his clothes and changed into a simple gray and a pair of black jeans. Keeping it simple was really his motto for everything. So he then went to the fridge and pulled out some kind of Styrofoam box and ate whatever the hell was inside it. He could not identify it but whatever it was it tasted good. And then he also grabbed a can of coke and slammed that before putting on his shoes and leaving the bus. Delicious.
The streets were not that crowded, not that it surprised him or anything. It seemed like this city was not as busy at night as somewhere else like New York or something like that. Not that he minded, again, it meant he could have breathing room. And he was not going to get shoved around either so that was a nice plus. When he arrived at the club they immediately let him in since he was Phoenix after all. It was probably because they were not that busy in all honesty but did he care? Hell no he was fine at least he got in. So he immediately sat his butt on the bar stool and ordered rum and coke. Why not start off with what he knew right? And he definitely knew rum and coke. They were actually best friends but whatever, he was fine with it.

i guess things have changed [atrb=border,0,true] So far no one had really caught Phoenix’s eye. There were pretty girls here, sure, but not a single one of them really impressed him. It was probably because there was only one girl who could impress him and she was not here. She was back home like all the other people that he loved in his life, except his band of course. Maybe he should go home and see everyone on their next couple days off, that seemed like a good idea. He would have to make a mental note to remember that for later. Of course he would probably forget. He always forgot things; it was just kind of his thing. Normally he did not mean to but it kind of just happened. And he really could not help it. So he sighed and tapped his finger on the ledge of the bar, not even really thinking about it. It just became a habit for one part of his body to be in motion and normally it drove a couple people up the wall and back down. He couldn’t help it, sue him. He then took a sip of his drink and winced as the alcohol slid down his throat, slightly burning it. He would never get used to that, no matter how many times he drank in a day. Or a month. Or hell, even a year. There was probably never getting used to things like rum and whiskey. Good lord did he hate drinking whiskey but it just fucked you up so fast that he dealt with it.
He still had not really found any girl that he found attractive so far and it felt like he had been here for a long time. Maybe he should go walking around and look, he just wanted someone to talk to. It was not even about hooking up or anything, he just wanted a friend he supposed. It was probably him just being a little lonely but hey, could anyone really blame him? He was homesick right now and could anyone really blame him? So he sighed and then noticed a very bright head sit down next to him. Well, that was definitely making a statement. He turned to get a better look at the girl but she had spoken to him and he felt himself choke on his drink. He probably should have taken a sip because the voice that he heard was one he definitely had not expected. He had not really been expecting Marley to be here. His hand slammed his drink on the table by reflex and he looked over at her with his eyes widened. She was still as pretty as always and she did not even look that different from the last time he had seen her. He wondered if he looked different now, but probably not. And then he found himself smiling from ear to ear before he shrugged at her and then ran a hand through his ridiculous hair. Well, this was definitely unexpected.
“Yeah, it has been a long time.” that was the only thing that he could think of to say and it made him wince a little bit. Really was he that lame? He could have said something cooler and something that did not make him look like a fruit loop. So he mentally slapped himself in the face and tried to collect his composure. It was just really hard to do considering he had not seen her in a long time. He could not quite pin point the last time that he had seen her but it was probably right after his son was born. That was two years ago. He could not believe that it had been that long and she stilled looked the same. So he smiled at her in more of a grin than the creepy ‘I will lock you in my basement’ way like he was. He was just kind of, well excited. “You look good. How have you been?” count on Phoenix to get straight to the small talk. Really he just wanted to know how she was, it was all genuine. But he could barely contain his excitement and his brain was going about a thousand miles a minute.
Then he got really nervous. He was not sure if she was really even wanting to talk to him. Maybe she was doing it to the pass the time. Or maybe she was waiting for someone who was a trillion times better than him. There was only so many times that he could break her heart you know? And he never even meant to but, well it happened. And yet she always had gone back to him and he had always gone back to her. He probably always would want to be with her, she was his first love after all. But still, it amazed him. So he took another sip of his drink, wishing he would think of something interesting to talk about. You would have thought that it was their first date or something with the way that he was acting but it really was not. It was far from it. Thank god for that.

i guess things have changed [atrb=border,0,true] Phoenix searched Marley’s face for any kind of reaction. He was not sure what he wanted to see right now, but he just wanted to see something. She looked really torn and it kind of tore him up a little inside, although he should have expected no less. So he bit down on his bottom lip and then looked away, wondering what she was thinking now. But then again, maybe he really did not want to know. She could have been killing him inside of her head and he really did not want that. He had no time to die right at this moment thank you very much. Although technically he did not do anything wrong so she really had no reason to be mad at him, although he really understood why she was. He was pretty mad at himself there for a while and it probably showed a few years ago. But you know, shit happened. Even though he was not looking at her he could still see her bright pink hair in the corner of his eye. Well, at least she would never get lost in a crowd, unless they were at a rave. But Phoenix really hated raves, they were not that fun. He had snuck out to one when he was a kid and yeah, he really did not see what the big deal was. But people liked what they liked and who was he to say anything about it?
When she responded to his question he moved his dark brown eyes to look at her blue ones as a small smile found its way to his lips. He just always smiled around her; he really could not help it. He really was glad that she was doing well, she looked like she had been doing good, which was fantastic. He had not seen her in forever and she was still pretty much the same. He really liked that. “Well that’s good. But yeah I am. So far it’s been pretty great, no complaints.” he told her with a shrug of his shoulders, even though that was obviously the truth. He had no complaints except maybe missing some people at home but that always came with the territory. He knew to expect that every day but he could not help it. At least he had one person from home right here in front of him right? That was always nice.
He had no idea what was going to happen though and it really drove him crazy. As he sat there, still drumming his fingers on the table because he needed to do something with his hands, he wondered if she still had feelings for him or if she was completely and utterly done with their relationship. He wanted to tell her that he was sorry and that he still cared greatly for her but he could not find it in him yet to say just that. It was probably because he had no idea if she was even remotely interested in dating him again. Probably not. “How is the music stuff going? Cause you were always great at it.” and there he went with the shameless flirting. He could not help it. Flirting with someone for so long could really just become subconscious you know? And he did not even think about it as it fell out of his mouth but he could not take it back and that was okay with him. To be honest, he really did not even want to take it back. He meant what he said and he would stand by it. She was always great at everything she did so it was no surprise that music was also another thing that she was good at. So he smiled at her and took another sip of his drink, bracing himself for the sting that would follow it.

[/b] she spoke with a laugh reaching for her drink and tilting it to her lips. Maybe it was fates way of bringing them together but she was going to brush it off as a weird coincidence. When Phoenix started to flirt with her, her first reaction was to simply flirt back. She smiled leaning towards him slightly and twirling a stray strand of her bright hair around her finger. A blush came onto her cheeks as he complimented her and she giggled kind of like a stupid school girl. ’’Its going great, I mean my band is on tour and all so that must say a lot’’ she replied with a grin tilting her drink to her lips. ’’What about you? Still making the girls melt with your bass?’’ she questioned gently raising her eyebrow and mentally cursing herself for flirting back but old habits die hard she supposed. .[/size][/center][/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul]

i guess things have changed [atrb=border,0,true] He had no idea how happy he was right now. Phoenix was ecstatic. And he just then realized that he really had missed her a lot. He knew everything about her and she knew everything about him. It was kind of weird to have someone know him who he was not related to. But it was kind of refreshing too, and he was not sure why. But hey whatever. And she never changed, not one day. That was also a good thing in his book. And of course he was still attracted to her. He felt it when he first looked at her but he could not do anything about it. Unless she wanted him to but he really doubted that this would happen. And the thought made him sigh a little before he shook his head. No, he had to think positive. That’s what he had to do. Because who knew, maybe she would take him back for the umpteenth time. Or maybe she was finally done with him. There were so many chances that a person got before they were not given any more chances. And the last time they broke up Phoenix had messed up big time. Very big, it was life altering big. But it was mostly his fault so it was not like he could blame her or anything. He did not want to blame her, he probably would have done the same if it were him. Nah, who was he kidding. He was far too in love with the girl to ever leave her. But he would respect her decision.
It was proving really hard to be this girls friend. He scolded himself for flirting with her but he could not help it. It had become second nature to him since he had been doing it for so long. And for a long time there he was pretty certain that he was going to marry the girl in front of him. When he first started dating her he was pretty sure that he wanted to marry her. That was why he gave her the necklace after all. Who would have known that now it meant that they would just be really good friends? It was kind of weird to think about. Marley then spoke and he looked at her and offered her a small smile before looking down at his hands and nodding. “Yeah, kind of ironic actually.” he chuckled. And it really was ironic, but it was the good kind of irony. He would have taken this over anything else any day. That might be a little pathetic but when it came to Marley he really did get a little pathetic.
Phoenix then smiled at her. He was glad that her band was doing well. That was good right? Actually, that was beyond good. It was fantastic. “Well I’m glad to hear.” he said before finishing the rest of his drink. The stinging that came with it was starting to die down, so at least there was that right? Then he laughed at her next statement and looked at his fingers before turning to look at her. “I suppose. What can I say, I have magic fingers.” he said with a laugh as he wiggled his fingers. Not really, he never had ‘magic fingers’ but it was fun to say that he did you know?

[/b] she replied to his statement pushing her hair back before reaching for her new drink and taking a long sip. ’’How did things go with your son and that um girl?’’ she found herself asking partly to make polite small talk and partly because she was genuinely curious though she would never admit it. Marley took another sip and averted her eyes a little scared of his answer as she tapped her fingers against the bar with a sigh. A laugh escaped her lips as he spoke about his fingers she brought her gaze back to him. Raising an eyebrow she shook her head ’’Magic fingers huh? That sounds suggestive’’ she replied teasingly laughing again as she took another drink. .[/size][/center][/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul]

i guess things have changed [atrb=border,0,true] Phoenix knew that he would probably never really grow up. Sure, physically he grew up but mentally he probably never would. He would probably be the forty five year old man trying to light sugar on fire because the news made something up about the way that it’ll burn. That was just who he was. And having a child probably would never do that, even though it should. His mother had been startled when she figured out that he was still the same old kid. His father just shook his head. That was fine with Phoenix since he was always the child who could do no right. It was probably because his brother was out in the business world making a name for him and Phoenix was at this tour, strumming his bass and making a name for him. It was two totally different paths and his father favored the child who took the one just like him. He had seen it in movies a hundred times and he honestly did not care enough to change his father’s mind. Besides, once it was already set there was no changing it and Phoenix did not have the energy to do that. He probably never would to be perfectly honest and he was content with that.
After Phoenix finished this class and ordered another one he started to feel slightly fuzzy. It was the good fuzzy though, the one that made everything so much better. He had no intentions of getting shit faced wasted today but maybe he would since he was clearly nervously drinking. He was on his third drink already and it had probably only been about twenty minutes since he started to talk to Marley. And when he looked at her all the feelings came rushing into his brain except ten times more strongly. And he wondered if he should say something, like he still cared or something. She made it pretty damn clear last time that she had wanted nothing to do with him but he did not care, he wanted everything to do with her. Maybe he would just say something later, if they both were sobered up or something. He wanted to be completely sober when he said that. It was probably the alcohol talking right now but he was completely fine with that.
When she asked about the girl who he had gotten pregnant he kind of froze up for a split second before letting his shoulders slump a little bit. It was kind of sad, what happened to her. Not for him, he never even loved her in the first place but for his son. But he just shrugged at her before taking another sip of his drink really fast. “Not great. She kind of just handed him over and then split. I have no idea where she is.” he was not really that sad about it because, some part of him however small it was, was glad that now he could be his kid’s favorite parent. But he never would really tell anyone about that, it was his little secret. He then laughed at her magic finger comment and shook his head “You’re a pervert. I meant that in the most innocent way possible. Perv.” he laughed after bumping his shoulder into hers in a playful way. That laugh had felt really good too, who knew laughing could do that to a person.

[/b] she told him with a small smile and it was true any kid of Phoenix had to be really freaking cute just look at the guy. She had kind of always pictured what their baby would have looked like If he had gotten her pregnant and though she had a few scares over the years it had never happened and it made her wonder if maybe it just really wasn’t meant to be. As he bumped her shoulder Marley couldn’t help but laugh and shake her head with a grin. ’’I’ve always been this way and you’ve never minded’’ she replied with a smile reaching for another drink and giggling again as the alcohol continued to take over her senses. She looked at Phoenix gently pushing her hair back and biting her lip if she was a little drunk she probably would have kissed him to be honest. In fact she should probably tell him her decision before something happened that she was going to regret. ’’I think we should be friends’’ she blurted out before covering her mouth in shock well whoops that was kind of blunt. She sighed and pulled her hand away reaching for Phoenix’s hand and gently lacing her fingers with his. ’’I mean we’ve never worked out before and I don’t think this time would be any different we should keep things casual because we don’t want this tour to get awkward.’’ she spoke softly squeezing his hand gently. .[/size][/center][/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul]
