LIE AWAKE IN BED AT NIGHT , [newclass=.lyrics]height: 150px; width: 200px;[/newclass] [newclass=.lyricsh]background-color: #687e3f; padding: 5px; opacity: 0; height: 140px; width: 190px; -webkit-transition: 2s ease; -moz-transition: 2s ease; -o-transition: 2s ease; text-align:center;[/newclass] [newclass=.lyricsh:hover]opacity: 0.9; -webkit-transition: 2s ease; -moz-transition: 2s ease; -o-transition: 2s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.info]font-family: open sans condensed; text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; margin-top: 0px; font-color: #000000; line-height: 140%; text-align: justify;[/newclass] ▌OLI OLI OXEN FREE ▌SIX ONE EIGHT ▌WEARING THIS ▌THEY'LL GET BETTER! SO EXCITED (: | the last thing that selene heard from her earbud before it was ripped out of her ear was one of her favourite solo's. she'd been standing in line at one of the many hot dog stands waiting to dress her unhealthy, almost-dinner, when a body out of no where completely took her off her feet. the only thing she was really pissed about was her ipod clashing against the patch of pavement, and the slight sting her earbud left. but when she came to, and looked up to see the culprit laughing at her from his mistake, she instantly saw red. everything was something to get pissed about; the sky was blue, it was his fucking fault.
"think this is funny, do yah?" she growled in response as she pulled herself to her feet, turning a few heads. she didn't try and wipe herself off, leaving the trace of gravel indented against her scrapped knees. instead, she set her glare on the idiot in front of her, constantly reminding herself in the back of her mind that she couldn't lay a finger on him. "yeah, maybe. so what? gonna make me buy you another wiener?" he laughed, glancing to a few of his friends that had returned from getting their food.
biting her tongue, selene held her breath and turned her back to the small group. she hated being out numbered, especially when it had to do with assholes. as she started to collect her things, she tried to ignore their snarky remarks and obnoxious comments about how far her tattoo went on her hip underneath her shorts, or her unwillingness to participate in their childish name calling. as soon as the things that had been knocked from her hands - her ipod; wallet; and bag - she popped her right earbud back into place, turning the volume up a little to help drown out the sound. straightening, she fastened her messenger bag more securely on her torso, ensuring that if someone bumped into her again, she wouldn't have to worry about losing it. settled and a bit more centered, she turned to face the four, but instead of saying something, she started to walk. rather than go around and avoid them, selene tried her luck with making them move. surprisingly, she got her way, but not verbally- they, of course, had to have the last words. something she just rolled her eyes to.
now that she was out of that situation, she had something much more important to think about; the hot dog that she'd left back on the ground. her stomach was going to start screaming at her soon if she didn't find a replacement. making her way back into the stand's line, selene opened her wallet, counting her money left over. glancing up at the price for the hot dog she'd ordered last time, she breathed a frustrated sigh. all she was missing was forty-three cents. she had more money of course, but it was back on the bus. maybe next time, she'd think about bringing a little extra for casualties. glancing behind her, she saw no one in line, but ahead of her, there were four people. at least one of them would be bound to have some spare change for her, right? swallowing her pride, and giving into her laziness, selene reached her slender right hand up and tapped the closest one to her on the shoulder. when he turned around, a small sense of familiarity struck her, and momentarily, she forgot what she was going to ask.
"uh.. hi." almost smacking herself in the forehead, she glanced down at her wallet. "do you, uhm, have any spare change?" |

for sel! 678 words sorry there's not much to work with D: you came out of nowhere stealing my heart and brain flaming my every call you make me feel myself will you stay in this land forever across the time and space a never-ending dance | [atrb=style,width:303px;][atrb=valign, top] YOU MAKE ME FEEL MY SOUL most of the time, oliver was careful about what he ate, but there were times when he let himself slip. especially on tour, it was nearly impossible to be the health freak that he was. however, his junk food craving was only part of the reason he was standing in line. an earlier case of mistaken identity had led to oliver's initial craving. oliver had been wandering around the tour grounds, apple in hand, when he'd nearly been bowled over by a small, angry man. it was purely the size difference between the two that kept oliver on his feet. at first, the man had been too busy yelling into his headset to even pay attention to oliver, but soon he turned to direct his anger towards oliver.
"you there! i thought i sent you off to get food. get me a hot dog or something," he snarled before yelling some more obscenities and then storming off. as he walked off, oliver heard him mutter about 'useless assistants'. it took him a moment to comprehend what had happend and by the time oliver pieced things together, the man was already too far gone. there was no use in chasing him down and trying to explain the mistake. with a shrug, oliver continued his wanderings while finishing off his apple. an hour later, he'd explored most of the tour grounds and consequently, found himself incredibly bored. and hungry. there was a hot dog stand a few feet away, or he could have walked all the way back to his bus. for a moment, oliver stood and debated with himself. finally though, he caved and walked over to the line.
as he approached the stand, the commotion to the right of him caught his attention. oliver's eyes narrowed when he saw the group of men harassing the woman. there was a nagging sense that oliver knew the woman, but his determination to chase off the men overpowered the thought. as they were walking away, oliver grabbed one of them by the arm, pulling him back. "hey, you wanna apologize to the lady?" while oliver worked out purely for health reasons, times like these were when it came in handy. the guy bit back whatever smartass comment he had in mind. oliver was ready to drag him over and make him apologize when he suddenly realized where he had seen the woman. granted, when oliver knew her she didn't have that many tattoos, but it was definitely the same person. selene hathaway was one of the many reasons that oliver hated being in school. he made a point to avoid her or risk getting shoved into a locker.
oliver's grip on the guy's arm loosened and the man took the opportunity to slip away. of course, the guy threw one last insult before scampering away. it didn't matter though, oliver was too preoccupied to care. he was more worried with selene spotting him. they hadn't seen each other in years, but something about her presence made oliver want to run away. oliver wasn't even sure she would recognize him, he looked nothing like he did in high school. when she started to walk over, he panicked and turned away, facing the line again. it wasn't exactly a logical response, but oliver was hoping he could get his food and leave without incidence.
when he felt the tap on his shoulder, there was an immediate sinking feeling. it would look incredibly suspicious if he just ran now. trying to pretend like he was a total stranger, oliver turned around and raised his eyebrow. "hi." well, it was a good start. however, his act didn't last long. the moment he realized selene was asking for change, oliver couldn't hold back the scoff. he was never one to pick a fight, but memories of his teenage years always struck a nerve. "you're kidding. why don't you just shove me in a locker and steal my lunch money instead?" so it was a bit harsh, but he wasn't ready to have any sympathy for her. |

AT ALL xD | it would be selene's luck, or karma, that would make her face someone she'd tormented in her teenage years. the fact that she didn't actually recognize him didn't help connect any dots on as to why she felt like she knew him, however. when he was younger, he looked entirely different; just his body type alone now was completely opposite. and never in a million years had she ever thought that she'd be faced with oliver wyatt ever again - and if so, not on tour while she was apparently "working", even though it felt more like slacking off and getting paid for it. so when he scoffed at her question in such a rude manner, selene's eyebrows instantly pinched together, ready to get on her defenses. what came next was a complete shock, though.
at first, she was speechless just because she had no idea what to say to something like that. she didn't know what it meant, but the look of confusion didn't last long on her features, quickly being replaced with anger. "ex-fucking-cuse me?" |
[/b] she raised her voice, throwing back as much obnoxious tone into it as she could to try and get back at him for his own. "are you off your medication or something, asshole?"[/b] admittedly, it was probably a little more over the top than she needed to express, but the time between when she'd been shoved and resurfaced into line, there wasn't a whole lot of room to calm down. plus, with every pulse of her heartbeat, she could feel the slight sting in her knees steadily going. most of that was more than likely her fault, for not brushing the small pebbles and rocks from her skin, but it wasn't like she was about to bend down, mid-confrontation, and do it now. "it was just a fucking question. a simple 'no' could've sufficed, don't you think?"[/b] adverting her gaze, she dug her hand back into her wallet, releasing her money before she lost any of it. after her wallet was zipped up, she pushed a chunk of hair from the right side of her face and tucked it behind her ear. for a moment, her eyes caught sight of the hot dog that was still laying on the ground, filthy and already stepped on. sighing, she raised the hand that had just maneuvered her hair and caressed her temple lightly. "i just love how you all claim to love and support the people here, and then you rag on the ones that help them do what they do. yeah. some fucking fans you ar-."[/b] a loud grumble from her stomach tore over her voice, and she nearly growled at herself for the interruption. but then again, what was one more thing to make her cranky about?[/color][/div][/div][/td][/tr][/table][/div][/center]

for sel! 481 words oliver's just going to be passive agressive about it xD you came out of nowhere stealing my heart and brain flaming my every call you make me feel myself will you stay in this land forever across the time and space a never-ending dance | [atrb=style,width:303px;][atrb=valign, top] YOU MAKE ME FEEL MY SOUL anger wasn't exactly an emotion that oliver was comfortable with, but in this situation, he couldn't help it. his sisters had always told him to ignore confrontations. they hadn't warned him about what to do when standing in line with someone he actually despised. the tone she took with him was no help at all. "oh, you're excused." the fact that selene had no idea who he was, only made oliver that much more upset. of course, selene could push him around for two years, but not remember his name at all. "unbelievable. you still don't know my name, do you? all those years and you didn't even bother to know my name." to oliver, it wasn't that she didn't recognize him, but more that selene had tried to ruin his life and had no idea who he was. it was offensive.
their small argument was drawing a bit of attention. from the corner of his eye, oliver could tell the guy in front of him was contemplating stepping in and giving sel the money. however, the glare oliver shot him was enough to make him step back. "i'm surprised you even bothered to ask," he growled. "a simple 'no' never really seemed to stop you." with that, oliver turned around, facing his back to her. there really was no point in arguing, but it did make oliver feel a bit better. his younger self was mentally giving him a high five and congratulating him for finally standing up for himself. it was several years too late, but nonetheless, it still felt great. despite the fact that oliver turned his back, it didn't stop sel from continuing on talking.
oliver was ready to ignore all of it. in fact, he was starting to feel a bit bad for letting himself go off like that. they had never really known each other in high school, oliver didn't know what her personal life was like. he was contemplating turning around and apologizing to her, but her next statement sparked his anger again. for some reason, sel not even knowing he was on the tour was next to infuriating. "you have got to be joking," he sighed and turned back. "you're telling me you work here? i'm just guessing here, but you have no idea who else is on this tour." the line was steadily moving up while oliver was talking. shaking his head, he turned back when it was his turn.
even from the distance he was at, oliver could hear her stomach growl. after all of that, he still felt bad. halfway through ordering, oliver caved, deciding he wasn't going to stoop to her level. "can you give me two? thanks." he pulled out his wallet and handed the money over. after shoving his wallet back, oliver took the two hot dogs and handed one to selene. "you're still a terrible person."

LIE AWAKE IN BED AT NIGHT , [newclass=.lyrics]height: 150px; width: 200px;[/newclass] [newclass=.lyricsh]background-color: #687e3f; padding: 5px; opacity: 0; height: 140px; width: 190px; -webkit-transition: 2s ease; -moz-transition: 2s ease; -o-transition: 2s ease; text-align:center;[/newclass] [newclass=.lyricsh:hover]opacity: 0.9; -webkit-transition: 2s ease; -moz-transition: 2s ease; -o-transition: 2s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.info]font-family: open sans condensed; text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; margin-top: 0px; font-color: #000000; line-height: 140%; text-align: justify;[/newclass] | everything that came out of this guy's mouth was pissing her off more and more. it wasn't because most of it was rude, or insulting, but because she didn't understand. it was so confusing, that it just made her frustration levels continue to rise. and by the time that he'd gotten to the part about "guessing" - more like telling - that she didn't know anyone else on the tour, she was soaring high with all the emotion that she hadn't been able to release in quite a while. she found it rather insulting, considering she took pride in the fact that she knew all the bands that were on tour, including the solo artists. naturally, when she saw oliver wyatt's name, she knew who he was from his music, but she'd never seen him before, and hadn't thought that they were one in the same. and because the tour had just started, she'd spent more time settling in and getting herself on a better sleep schedule on her sober nights to get up for work to pay a lot of attention to some of the shows going on. she heard them, and that's all that really mattered for now. it wasn't like she wouldn't have a chance to see them another week; they'd be at this for a while.
nonetheless, it was his time to order, so selene didn't let herself continue on. instead, she bit her lower lip rather harshly at the left corner, trying to make herself focus her eyes on the prices above. she couldn't get the hot dog she wanted, but she'd be able to at least get a drink. that'd do her until she found her way back over here with money if she didn't find anything in the bus to munch on. she hadn't bothered to listen to his order, doing her best to tune into her metallica instead, so when he turned around and extended his hand with the hot dog, she almost sneered at him in response. "i never asked you to-" |
[/b] for a second time, she was cut off, but this time it wasn't because of her stomach. his voice triggered something in her head, the same last couple of words repeating in her head, only they came from someone else's mouth. narrowing her eyes, her eyebrows creased as she tried to fit the pieces together. it took a moment, but as soon as everything started to click in, a sharp gasp erupted from her lips. ".. oli oxen?"[/b] she muttered, almost scared to utter the nickname that one of her friends had started to call him. she'd went along with it, along with everyone else in their small circle of trouble makers, but at the time, it was something that didn't mean any harm to them. now.. "jesus fuck."[/b] releasing a deep breath of grief, she glanced over her shoulder. seeing someone impatiently waiting, selene very gently brushed his arm with her free hand, directing him to step out of line with her so they weren't bothering anyone. as soon as they were out of the way, she swallowed thickly, racking her brain to try and find something to say that didn't involve the world jesus or fuck. you're oliver wyatt? i mean, the solo.. wow."[/b] pausing, she had to take a bit of a step back to gather herself. from what she remembered of oliver.. this was a very big surprise. before, she'd found him a little cute in the right light whenever she wasn't baked out of her head, but he was such a dork, and pretty pathetic at proving his backbone. that clearly wasn't a problem anymore, she'd experienced first hand. "i didn't even recognize you. you got tall."[/b] she'd attempted to lighten the mood a bit with her last statement, but when she doubted herself, she quietly cleared her throat, doing her best not to think about how awkward this was getting. "i feel like an ass. no, i know i'm an ass. here.. you should take this back. you really shouldn't have bought it for me."[/b] extending her hand with the hot dog, she looked up at him, once again holding her breath for a second time that day.[/color][/div][/div][/td][/tr][/table][/div][/center]

for sel! 424 words awkwaaard you came out of nowhere stealing my heart and brain flaming my every call you make me feel myself will you stay in this land forever across the time and space a never-ending dance | [atrb=style,width:303px;][atrb=valign, top] YOU MAKE ME FEEL MY SOUL after handing the hotdog over, oliver was ready to call things even and walk away. he raised an eyebrow when she started to protest, and simply held the hotdog further out. at this point, oliver was not looking to start anymore arguments. the hotdog was his peace offering and she had to take it. he was starting to shove the food closer and closer when she paused. at the mention of the familiar nickname, oliver's hand dropped. he took a sharp breath and pursued his lips, nodding his head slightly. "yup, there it is." oliver was slightly surprised at her reaction, it almost seemed like she felt bad about it. "took you long enough to figure that out," he muttered softly. now that she did recognize him, oliver didn't know how he felt about it. if anything, he felt awkward about the whole thing now.
while selene spent some time processing oliver's presence, he stood there, trying to avoid eye contact. he flinched a little when she touched his arm. part of him was preparing to defend himself, but when oliver realized she was just moving them to the side, he reluctantly stepped away from the line. despite how he felt about selene, he couldn't help but laugh at her statement. halfway through high school, oliver had hit a bit of a growth spurt, and evened out a bit. it helped his appearance a little, but he was still a complete wimp, so it didn't really matter. "uh, yeah. i was a bit of a late bloomer," oliver added, a bit lamely. he should have just left instead of carrying out a conversation, but oliver figured it was a bit rude. he wouldn't do that to anyone, even if he wasn't fond of them.
when she tried to hand the hotdog back, oliver took a slight step back and shook his head. "i'm not going to eat it, you might as well take it." he held up his hotdog as if to prove a point. "seriously, the next time your stomach growls, it will probably start a small earthquake. so please, for my safety, take it." oliver was already over his initial anger and now that she seemed to feel bad, oliver was feeling far worse. he was half-hoping that selene would make fun of him and then his anger would feel more justified. this was by no means the person he knew in high school. now, it was a matter of leaving and trying to avoid her for the rest of the tour. |

LIE AWAKE IN BED AT NIGHT , [newclass=.lyrics]height: 150px; width: 200px;[/newclass] [newclass=.lyricsh]background-color: #687e3f; padding: 5px; opacity: 0; height: 140px; width: 190px; -webkit-transition: 2s ease; -moz-transition: 2s ease; -o-transition: 2s ease; text-align:center;[/newclass] [newclass=.lyricsh:hover]opacity: 0.9; -webkit-transition: 2s ease; -moz-transition: 2s ease; -o-transition: 2s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.info]font-family: open sans condensed; text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; margin-top: 0px; font-color: #000000; line-height: 140%; text-align: justify;[/newclass] | it might've been just because oliver didn't see himself in the same light as selene had, and does now, but she knew that his reaction to her own reaction was confusion. he probably didn't see a whole lot of himself that's changed, and that may be so for his perspective, but selene's was much more open now. she didn't have a group of bad people clouding her judgment, or family issues weighing over her head to take out on anyone anymore. not only that, but she'd been listening to him ever since she'd heard one of his earlier tracks through a friend. that really changed a lot of perspectives that had been set in place, strictly made from how he carried himself, and what he looked like. now she was faced with what seemed like a completely different person, much like he was probably going to realize she'd changed rather drastically compared to how she used to act. now it was only the verbal fighting that really made her name.
to be honest, it was a little hard for her to keep herself from pinching her arm. was she really standing with oliver wyatt? not the solo artist- the kid she used to bully. the nerd who'd get tossed up against a locker and looted for his cafeteria money most days of the week. out of everyone who felt the wrath of her and her group, oliver was probably the candidate who received the worst of it. from selene, anyway. and now that she was thinking about it, she couldn't really recall why she'd been drawn to make him feel worse about himself. the only thing she could think was that she might've saw something in him that she envied.
at oliver's reply to her trying to give the hot dog back, she tried her best to keep her frown off her face. for some reason, she felt a little.. off put. it made her feel bad for taking the hot dog, or even asking for change in the first place. now here she was, stuck with a stupid hot dog that he'd bought not because he wanted to, but because he might've felt like he needed to in order just to get rid of her, and she had no idea what to say. should she mention their past, or would he rather just leave all that behind them? it was hard to tell, with the way he'd reacted, and how his body language was towards their past roles in school. sighing, she pulled her arm back, gripping the wrapper around the hot dog's bun a bit more secure. "yeah, right. i'd disappoint a lot of people if you went missing, or got hurt."
with nothing left to say, and the thickness in the air starting to grow, selene slowly swallowed her pride and looked oliver in the face. "okay, well, i should probably leave you alone- fuck." from over oliver's shoulder, selene caught sight of the guys who'd she'd bumped into earlier, only they weren't by themselves anymore. they hadn't seen her, but she had the advantage of standing behind oliver, so if she played her cards right, maybe they'd just overlook her entirely, get whatever they were getting, and screw off to pester teeny boppers. "uh, maybe we could just.. stand. here. or, you know. go somewhere. away from here?" her eyes continuously shifted back and forth from where she'd last seen the familiar faces and oliver's, not really attempting to hide the fact that she genuinely didn't want to try her luck with them again.
the fact that this was coming up to someone she used to probably make feel the same way was just simply ironic. |

for sel! 732 words now he's just showing off xD you came out of nowhere stealing my heart and brain flaming my every call you make me feel myself will you stay in this land forever across the time and space a never-ending dance | [atrb=style,width:303px;][atrb=valign, top] YOU MAKE ME FEEL MY SOUL oliver was coming to the slow realization that selene was not the same person he knew in high school. then again, neither was he. they had left and become different people. his initial anger had blinded him to that fact. they were children in high school and oliver had heard rumors about selene's personal life. after she dropped out, oliver didn't give it another thought. the bullying wasn't as bad once selene was gone, and oliver was thankful for that. he was never one to hold a grudge, and perhaps it was in his best interest to give her a second chance. seeing as how they were going to be on the same tour, oliver didn't want to start off on the wrong foot. besides, if selene wanted to push him around, oliver was certainly capable of pushing back. he was never going to get anywhere if he made enemies for small things that had happened years ago.
"really? i don't think they'd notice," he scrunched his nose and shook his head. oliver managed a small, awkward smile. while he was relieved that selene had agreed to take the hot dog, oliver didn't quite know where to direct the conversation now. biting the inside of his lip, he glanced around, searching for anything to say to her. when selene started to end their little encounter, oliver swallowed hard. he couldn't just let her walk off like that. "wait, i-" before he could say anything though, he was distracted by the curse. at first, oliver thought it had been directed towards him, and his eyebrows pinched together in confusion. however, he soon realized that her attention was focused on something behind him. turning slightly, oliver glanced over his shoulder. immediately, he recognized the guy he had grabbed earlier. this time however, he'd returned with a couple new additions to the group. "they giving you trouble?"
with a smirk on his face, oliver turned back to sel and laughed softly. "oh, this is ironic." if oliver was the revengeful type, he could have left selene there, and let the group see her. however, that was not something oliver could do. all the times he had been bullied, oliver had always hoped that someone would step in and stand up for him. while that never happened, he was now capable of doing that for others. it may have been his former tormenter, but that wasn't to say she deserved such harsh treatment from the likes of the group. "hold this," oliver muttered and handed her his hot dog. as he walked over to the group, oliver pushed his sleeves up. a part of him was probably just trying to impress selene, for reasons that oliver didn't quite understand, but he was trying to convince himself it was for his inner teenage oliver.
the group noticed him walking towards and oliver could tell the guy he had grabbed earlier recognized him. "unless you're back to apologize to the lady, i suggest you get lost." of course, his threat was only met with laughter and a few obnoxious comments. "what are you gonna do about it, make me?" the guy sneered and put his arms out, lightly shoving oliver. the push didn't even move oliver from his spot and all he did was raise his eyebrow. "yeah, if i have to, i will. i'd prefer if you walked over there and did it yourself." |
[/b] again, there was more laughter and the guy spat a few curses before raising his fist to throw a punch at oliver. it was all but expected and oliver reached out, grabbing his fist. in one move, he grabbed the guy's ear and twisted his arm behind her back. strangely enough, at the same time, oliver figured out what he was going to say to sel. it was funny how things worked out. ignoring the rest of the group, oliver walked the guy over to selene, all while he was struggling and hurling insults. "i think this young man has something to say to you." at first, the guy continued his stream of insults, trying to fight back. when oliver twisted his arm even further back, he yelped out an apology. the commotion had drawn the tour security towards them and oliver glanced as they ran over. still holding the man, oliver looked at selene. "how about we start over, forget about everything."[/div][/td][/tr][/table] [/center]

LIE AWAKE IN BED AT NIGHT , [newclass=.lyrics]height: 150px; width: 200px;[/newclass] [newclass=.lyricsh]background-color: #687e3f; padding: 5px; opacity: 0; height: 140px; width: 190px; -webkit-transition: 2s ease; -moz-transition: 2s ease; -o-transition: 2s ease; text-align:center;[/newclass] [newclass=.lyricsh:hover]opacity: 0.9; -webkit-transition: 2s ease; -moz-transition: 2s ease; -o-transition: 2s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.info]font-family: open sans condensed; text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: 2px; margin-top: 0px; font-color: #000000; line-height: 140%; text-align: justify;[/newclass] | it was a little surprising to hear oliver saying the word 'wait', considering he'd seemed to be more than eager to get rid of her a few moments before hand. or, at least, it'd rubbed off like he'd wanted to get away from her as soon as possible. luckily, her brain was too busy trying to process how she was going to use oliver as a shield without simply stating so to him to worry about him wanting to make more awkward conversation with her. instead, now she was faced with having to decide between running and hoping a heavy crowd swooped in eventually, or that oliver didn't have a late lunch date with someone.
what happened next was completely unexpected. he looked over his shoulder carefully to scope out what had her so bugged, and when he found the source, he turned back to her. at his question, her eyebrows raised almost defensively, and she was a little too quick to try and deny it. "no, not really.. i mean. kind of.. it's complicated." |
[/b] to be honest, she just didn't really feel like fussing up to not wanting a huge scene that involved her and some bonehead, screaming at the tops of their lungs at each other. but, that didn't mean that she wanted oliver to go out and get himself involved, either. especially since it was, in essence, her battle. having someone else fight her battles wasn't something selene took to at all. but before she could tell him not to, he was already asking her to hold his hot dog, and turning to confront the group by himself. selene swallowed thickly as she watched him walk, smirking a bit to herself as she saw him push his sleeves up a bit. she tried to put herself in the shoes of the guy oliver was about to confront, and to be honest, she was a little intimidated. oliver definitely didn't have those muscles back in high school, so seeing them revealed now in such a way gave oliver a few extra points that she didn't even know existed. she couldn't really hear what was being said, but it left her feeling a little awkward and uncomfortable anyway, the looks she received from everyone else who wasn't directly talking to oli not helping at all. that was the kind of embarrassment she'd been tried to avoid, but lucky, it was only really them who'd taken notice so far. at the sight of the stranger raising his arms to push at oliver, selene bit her lower lip, sure that she'd just lead him to get hurt. when it didn't even make him blink, a wide smile slowly started to capture her lips, and her nerves were set at ease. she might've been capable of being knocked down by that guy, but oliver? still watching from afar, selene raised her hot dog to her mouth, ripping off a small bite from the end, not daring to take her eyes off the sight before her, just in case something did go sour. so, naturally, when oliver completely deflected his punch, and twisted it into an arm lock, selene almost choked. on the last bit of food she was swallowing. blinking, a little in shock, she watched as oliver guided him towards her, not really processing everything all that well. she was still lingering in the after-vision of seeing his defensive moves to really pay attention to the apology that was forced out of him. but it still made her grin; probably the widest she'd ever smiled around oliver before. the sound of the tour security's footsteps weren't hard to miss, but selene didn't bother giving them her time. instead, her eyes remained locked on oliver's face. after a moment of unneeded contemplation, she nodded her head in agreement. "i think that sounds like a good idea,"[/b] she admitted. her lips were parted to mention something else, but the security team cut in before she had a chance. at first, their suspicions were that oliver was causing trouble, but selene didn't let them think that for long. it helped that she had her badge on her, and the name oliver wyatt was known around tour enough for them to believe her. it did, however, get those snot-nosed idiots out of selene's way for good, though. after they left, and the surrounding attention started to die down, selene tried to hide her excitement in, knowing that exclaiming loudly about how cool that was probably wasn't the best idea. "here you go, rambo,"[/b] she muttered playfully as she gave his hot dog back to him. side stepping, she set her hot dog down onto the ledge of the condiment section, grabbing the ketchup to dress her food. "if.. you're not doing anything, maybe we could start over while we eat? you can tell me all about where you learned those moves."[/b] glancing over her shoulder at him, the impulse to wink surfaced, and without thinking, selene let it escape after her statement.[/color][/div][/div][/td][/tr][/table][/div][/center]

for sel! 554 words this is shooort you came out of nowhere stealing my heart and brain flaming my every call you make me feel myself will you stay in this land forever across the time and space a never-ending dance | [atrb=style,width:303px;][atrb=valign, top] YOU MAKE ME FEEL MY SOUL the whole scene probably looked hilarious. oliver was holding a casual conversation with selene, while the grown man between them was trying to hold back tears. when she agreed to start over, oliver grinned and let the man go. before he could run though, oliver grabbed him by the ear, holding him until tour security made their way over. the group that the guy was with had lingered behind, unsure of how to handle the situation. oliver was surprised none of them had tried to step up to their friend's defense, but then again, it was a bigger miracle that they hadn't hightailed it the first chance they got. he was getting ready to speak again when security interrupted them.
with the man still in his grip, oliver was the obvious target of security's questioning. now that security was here, the group was quick to join, accusing oliver of harassing them. it was quite clear they had no idea who he was and they thought they were going to get him thrown out. luckily, oliver's badge and selene's backing helped clear things up. a couple witnesses to the whole situation helped oliver's story. soon enough, the group was being escorted away, but not before oliver made the rest of them apologize to selene was well. with his arms crossed, oliver was far too smug as he watched them being led away. it didn't help that selene seemed very impressed with his showing off.
the smile she gave him threw him off for a bit. oliver had never seen that smile before and he found himself very taken with her. just from that, oliver knew his decision to give her a second chance would be well worth it. grinning at her rambo comment, he took the hot dog back from her and followed her towards the condiments. now that the adrenaline was wearing off, his stomach was starting to remind him how hungry he was. placing the hot dog down, he grabbed the mustard, and squeezed out a decent amount. "when i say start over, i mean from the very beginning," he put the bottle down and licked a bit of stray mustard off his thumb before sticking his hand out. "i'm oliver. sorry about those guys back there."
the second he was done, oliver grabbed the hot dog and took a bite. junk food was a rarity and right now, the salty food was perfect. selene's questions prompted him to chew a little faster. the wink however, nearly caused oliver to choke on his food. he was able to pass it off as a really hard swallow, but it didn't help the initial shock. it took oliver a second to compose himself and find an answer for her. "i live in new york, and i got mugged the first year i lived there. so i started taking krav maga classes to defend myself," oliver smiled slightly. "that's actually the first time it's come in handy though." there were others waiting and oliver motioned for them to move. walking away from the hot dog stand, oliver looked around. "so what do you do?" he took another bite and looked at sel. "on tour, i mean." he didn't recognize her as one of the musicians, but he was going to be slightly embarrassed if she was.
