LE-LE. TWENTY TWO. APRIL SECOND. BISEXUAL. MUSICIAN. LEAD GUITAR AND SCREAMS/HELLBOUND NATION. DANNY WORSNOP.
Once upon a time, a man named Jeremy Trucose met a wonderful, loving and beautiful woman, with a future ahead of her and the opportunity to have any man she wanted, named Lionela Nowak. Jeremy was an actor, and when one says that, they don’t mean an on-screen actor, they mean a ‘I’m a successful decent man, will you go out with me’ kind of actor. Lionela fell for his tricks, and three years later, after being raped repeatedly and forced against her will to marry Jeremy, little Leon Trucose was born. Unable to deal with the guilt and shame she felt every time she laid eyes upon the son she loved so much, she passed away due to grief, leaving poor Leon at the age of three to grow up, learn and be ‘taught’ how to live by his Father. Indeed, Leon did learn at a school until he was about twelve, after which time his Father stopped paying for his schooling.
Leon was kicked out of many schools during his six years. He was a rather aggressive child; he liked to resolve problems by not going to the teachers, but by using his own fists. His Father saw no fault in this action and never disciplined Leon for resulting to violence, which is where Leon’s love for fighting and beating people up came from. However, where had Leon learned to use his fists in a way to hurt someone bad, but not do any serious harm? From his Father that’s who. Leon’s father was nearly always drunk, drinking away their food and living money, and then when something they needed was needed and there was no money, Jeremy used his fists to display his anger upon Leon. Due to this, and after seeing how most families were with their children, caused Leon to become rather resentful, and after leaving school at twelve, things only got worse.
Leon was learning to become rather proficient with his fists, and after meeting a kid named James and his younger brother Jack, and forming a friendship and bond, as all three boys had similar troubles at home, with alcoholic and abusive parents they began to band together to make mischief and stand up for themselves. By the time Leon had turned fourteen, he wasn’t taking no crap from his father anymore. Having learnt to fight rather well, Jeremy and Leon would brawl constantly until the other could no longer stay standing. Jeremy having been fighting longer and nearly always drunk would beat Leon to a pulp and then throw him in the gutter to spend the night. This continued right until the day James and Jack parents died, about the time Leon turned 16.
Jeremy now no longer cared what happened with his son, and if Leon went missing for months at a time, Jeremy wouldn’t notice. Leon even stopped calling him ‘dad’. After planning things with James and Jack, Leon packed his belongings(which wasn’t overly much) and skipped out of Bon Temps, moving to Trenton with both James and Jack. This is where Leon believes his real life started. Getting a job simply running errands for the local shopping centre, James and Leon went about making a living, and rented out a low end, cheap apartment for the three boys to live in. Having discovered a love for music when they were all much younger, the three boys got whatever instruments they brought with them (Two guitars and a wooden stick which acted like a microphone) and started up their own little ‘band’.
Performing on the streets of Trenton, in the more popular shopping and business areas, they boys began to make a name for themselves in Trenton, getting what seemed to them a fair bit of money, and even got to play some local shows at the local centres to try getting their names out there. However, as the days went by tension grew between the boys, as girls, money and cigarettes became a need and want, and with the tight budget they lived on, Leon being the strongest and ‘Jack’ being the baby of the group, James was often left out, which began to droll upon him, causing him to go downhill, getting hit with large bouts of depression. Jack began to blame himself for what was happening to his brother, and this began to boil a rage in Leon.
Leon hated when people blamed themselves for other people problems. Leon and Jack began to brawl and fight more than they had, and Leon’s blows weren’t so soft anymore. James feeling responsible for what was happening between his brother and Leon became worse, and worse, turning to self-abuse and nearly leaving Jack and Leon to try make it on his own. Yet, James never made it to his Twentieth birthday. Leon had only just turned Seventeen about the this time, and James had decided to buy Leon a birthday present, something for ‘protection’ as James called it, if things ever got too hard for him to handle. James got Leon a gun. Thinking nothing of it, Leon only even kept a single bullet in the gun, and put it away, hoping for no need to ever use it.
The night before James Twentieth birthday, James ‘borrowed’ the gun, and took his own life. Leon had only just replaced the bullet within the gun the night before, in James’ presence. Guilt, rage everything possible boiled with Leon which made him more violent than he had ever been before. James saw everything as Jack’s fault, and to protect Jack from harm and to make sure Leon didn’t do something he’d one day regret, Jack was taken into Witness Protection and given a new life. Leon however got ‘lucky’ in another way. One day when he was down the local cemetery, he met a girl. A girl who he thought would fill the whole of his life with everything he was lacking. He met his soon-to-be Girlfriend, and future wife, Lynn.
Leon and Lynn had both lost their best friends in such a short span, and began to bond. They did everything together. Visited the cemetery, busked, went shopping, partied and anything you could imagine together. It was around Leon’s Eighteenth birthday that he finally decided that Lynn was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and proposed to her, March Thirty-First. They got married only three months later. Yet their happiness together, however short lived, was quite possible the happiest years of both Leon’s and Lynn’s life. A whole year passed, and they had done everything to make a new life for themselves, one free of pain and hardship. Leon began to feel guilty however that he was unable to give Lynn the life he believed she deserved.
Then one little argument was what ended it all. Lynn stormed out the day of Leon’s birthday. A simple argument, Lynn had taken something Leon said the wrong way, and gotten upset over it. As the rain began to pour down, and no word from Lynn for around three hours, it struck fear into Leon’s heart. The feeling didn’t dull as he came to find her sitting alone on the edge of a Bridge. They met eyes, and as Leon rushed over, Lynn tumbled and began to fall. Held only by Leon’s arm, Leon spoke the words he’d been feeling. How he was sorry for everything he’d been unable to give her. He then sealed it with ‘in life, I can’t give you all of what you deserve. I love you Lynn....however, maybe in death, you’ll have everything you deserve.’ Leon then let Lynn go, dropping her to her cold watery grave below.
Almost two years have passed since Lynn’s death, yet the guilt and sorrow he feels every day is still as strong as it was the second he let go. The pain and guilt he feels over the death of his best friend stick strong and true each and every day. Leon is just a walking, talking mask, a mannequin of guilt, pain and fear. That’s who Leon has become.
SECRETS: Leon let Lynn drop to her death, because he couldn’t give her everything he thought she deserved.
When Leon’s friend James killed himself, it was Leon who loaded the gun.
“Right, Personality. That's what I've got to put here yeah? 'cause I don't want to fuck this shit up. I'm already a pretty big dickhead. So yeah, the front I put up for the people I don't know, the people want to keep as my friends and those that I call 'family' are three different things altogether. Guess Family is a good way to start up. In a word, what remains of my family....which is my womanizing and alcoholic father, is I HATE him! Everything about him. Every time I see him, it's awkward as all hell, and I always shove it in his face how much I hate him. So yeah, my relationship with my dad is pretty bad, and that's how you'll see me act in front of him. A complete heartless and unthinking asshole. In front of most, I'll act like a random idiot, who drinks and smokes in public and doesn't care about the opinions others get. This is pretty much how I act in front of my friends and those ‘closer’ to me. Yet, I do get all emotional and break down in front of them sometimes, 'cause I honestly can't keep it bottled up all the time. So you know. That's basically me in a nutshell.”
The name Lynn is carved into his bicep, often covered by shirts, or make-up. The scars too painful to remember.
